2021, a year of evolution for BEAL International
New training centre, extension of the showroom and production, new space dedicated to Research and Development: the BEAL International site in Fernelmont is expanding to keep pace with the company’s constantly evolving ambitions.
While Beal International typically experiences steady double-digit growth each year, our targets were significantly exceeded in 2021. This is a good sign for a very ambitious 2022.
After more than 45 years of existence, we are still in a major growth phase. And to meet the new challenges that we will face with this continuous evolution, six million euros were invested.
2020, the year of challenge
Faced with the global pandemic situation that we all experienced in 2020, our company was able to rely on the work of its teams and a great capacity to adapt to continue its activities.
Our corporate strategy of sourcing raw materials exclusively from Europe, and in particular from the countries bordering Belgium, was also a strength in getting through this complicated period. Thanks to this local sourcing and the fact that we manufacture our products ourselves and on our sites, our teams were able to continue their work while respecting very strict sanitary rules. We did not hesitate to anticipate certain health measures to ensure the well-being of our employees as well as our customers, which helped us to face the situation with more serenity.
Fernelmont site expands
In order to continue our development and to meet the growing demand, the years 2020 and 2021 also saw the start of several expansion projects at BEAL International.
In particular, we have started work on the expansion of our site in the Namur region. The aim of this 5,500 m² extension is to expand production and our workshops in order to accommodate new production lines and a larger storage area. Operational since the beginning of 2021, this storage space has enabled us to cope with orders without ever running out of stock.
As well as helping us to maintain a high level of responsiveness to orders and samples requests, this work will also enable us to welcome a wider range of customers, who will be advised by our specialist, multilingual experts.
1200 m² offices, a 300 m² shop and self-service area and a dedicated Research and Development centre are also under construction. The showroom will be transformed to double in size from 250 to 500 m². The aim is to immerse customers even more in our world, to present our product ranges in detail and to highlight the many possibilities offered by our solutions in terms of colours, applications and rendering. This showroom is also a great opportunity for us to present the know-how of the craftsmen, who carried out all the fittings in this space.
The training centre is expanding
In order to achieve excellence, we have for years made it a point of honour to offer comprehensive training courses to craftsmen and installers who wish to do so.
Every year, more than 2,000 professionals from the construction and decoration sector and from all countries are trained in the use and installation of our materials.
These courses are given in Fernelmont (Belgium) in several languages (French, Dutch, English, Spanish, German,…) by our experts. They can also be followed in several countries around the world at our partner distributors.
Offering these training courses allows us to ensure the correct implementation of our products, but also to develop a network of highly qualified professionals that we can then recommend to architects and private individuals.
In order to meet the growing demand for these courses, we decided to build a new 700 m² dedicated space. Inaugurated in 2021, this centre is composed of five rooms adapted to the different modules and specialisations of the courses given. Five groups of twelve people will now be able to be trained at the same time, which will allow us to welcome even more passionate installers. The courses combine theory and practice and are given by trainers who are experts in their field.
A new look for packaging
2021 marks two important anniversaries for our company: the 30th anniversary of the creation of MORTEX® coating and the 13th anniversary of the BEALSTONE® product, two “avant-garde” systems.
The years pass but the passion remains: we are still as happy as ever to continue such an adventure and to make these products known to professionals in the construction, renovation and decoration sectors.
These anniversaries seemed to us to be the ideal opportunity to create new packaging. The longevity and success of these products prove their unique and innovative character. We wanted to develop their packaging to match the unwavering modernity of these solutions, which are more up-to-date than ever.
In 2022, there will be as many projects as ever!
On the agenda: the installation of an automated liquid production line and digital machines, the inauguration of the new offices and… other projects that we will reveal in due course!
