CAPILASIL®
CAPILASIL® is a range of colourless water repellents for walls and frontages developed to achieve maximum protection against surface or rising damp problems.
Cleaning up the building with a water repellent treatment is one of the first steps in a renovation project. CAPILASIL® water repellent treatments allow your “hydrophilic” materials to become “hydrophobic” while maintaining their permeability to water vapour.
Depending on the needs and the nature of your humidity problems, the formulations of the CAPILASIL® range vary to offer maximum success to your frontage remediation, terrace and rising damp projects.

Surface humidity
Our surface water repellents have been designed to treat most surfaces made of porous materials (walls, joints, etc.). CAPILASIL® solutions offer an exceptional water vapour permeability and ensure the waterproofing of treated materials.
Brick, concrete, stone or even wood: whatever the type of surface to be water repelled, there is a suitable CAPILASIL® solution.
Protection of frontages by impregnation
Application
CAPILASIL® solutions dedicated to surface water repellency are easily applied by pouring or brushing, from bottom to top.
A “fresh on fresh” application is recommended in most cases. This is the method that allows the best penetration of the product, because the second application makes the previous one penetrate deeper into the surface. The deeper the penetration, the longer the life of the treatment. We offer a 10-year warranty on frontages (see our terms).

The formulations of CAPILASIL® solutions vary according to the nature and porosity of the surface. Our teams are available to advise you on the best solution according to your sanitation and dampness treatment project for your frontages and terraces .
Product tested by the C.S.T.C. for surface water repellency (Report HD-340/133-83).
Packaging
All CAPILASIL® solutions are available in 5 and 25 litre drums. Consumption varies according to the porosity of the surface, from 0.2 to 0.5 L per m˝.

Rising damp
This type of dampness is caused by water absorption through capillary action.
When the capillaries are thin, moisture migrates slowly, but the pressure is high and the rise is significant, up to two metres high. When the capillaries are larger, moisture migrates more quickly, but the pressure is lower. Rising damp generally ranges from 80 centimetres to one metre high.
The CAPILASIL® solutions are applied by injection and form a hydrophobic barrier at the bottom of the walls. In aqueous or solvent phase, they allow the drying and protection of walls against rising damp.
Wall treatment by injection
Application
The CAPILASIL® water-repellent solutions are applied by means of an injection pump (rental is possible) and according to a specific method.
Practical studies prove that the treatment of buildings against rising damp by injection with the CAPILASIL® water-repellent solutions more than 40 years ago is still effective and will remain so for a long time. With treatment and injections carried out in accordance with our technical data sheets, your buildings are protected and remain healthy in the long term.
Characteristics
The CAPILASIL® water-repellent solutions, whether in solvent or aqueous form, are formulated from oligomeric siloxanes with high concentrations of active ingredients. This product has a hydrophobic action, excellent penetration power and very good activity, even in the presence of harmful salts such as nitrates, with a “hardening” agent.
We also offer solutions for treating wood against moisture by impregnation.
Packaging
The CAPILASIL® solutions are available in 5 and 25 litre drums. Consumption is 1.5 to 2 litres per running metre and per 10 cm of thickness.
