MORTEX® and BEALSTONE®, two high-end solutions from BEAL, make stairs a central feature of any space.
Whether minimalist or spectacular, stairs gain personality and durability thanks to MORTEX® and BEALSTONE® solutions. Two styles and the same high quality standards for premium materials that enhance every architectural project.

Renovating or building a staircase: a strategic architectural choice
Staircases are no longer limited to their structural function: they can become architectural features in their own right. To give them character, MORTEX® and BEALSTONE® solutions stand out thanks to:
- Total adaptability to complex shapes
- Customised application in thin layers
- A continuous, seamless finish that enhances the architectural design
Designed for architects, craftsmen and designers, these two coatings combine high technical performance, extensive customisation and exceptional wear resistance.
MORTEX®: the refinement of waxed concrete

Flexible, waterproof and extremely resistant, MORTEX® micro-mortar can be applied in thin layers (up to 3 mm in total) on all substrates – concrete, reconstituted wood, tiles – whether new or existing. It can therefore be used to renovate stairs without demolition.
Its raw, mineral aesthetic, inspired by waxed concrete, appeals with its modernity. The colours, material effects and matt or satin finishes are available in an infinite variety, offering a continuous and elegant finish, whatever the type of staircase (straight, spiral, suspended, etc.).
‘The MORTEX® brand allows you to create a visually light, contemporary and timeless staircase,’ says an architect who regularly chooses this material.
BEALSTONE®: the elegance of terrazzo, with added freedom

Inspired by traditional terrazzo, the BEALSTONE® system can be customised by incorporating a variety of aggregates: natural stone, marble, recycled glass, mother-of-pearl, pigments, shells, etc. It can be used in new builds or renovations, with or without joints, and is equally suited to raw and textured finishes as well as polished and glossy finishes.
Its robustness and high-end aesthetics make it an ideal solution for stairs subject to heavy traffic: homes, hotels, shops, public buildings.
Two solutions, one philosophy
Whether it’s the simplicity of MORTEX® mineral plaster or the expressiveness of the BEALSTONE® range, BEAL International puts technical innovation at the service of creative freedom, with local manufacturing, sustainable products and almost unlimited customisation options.
The key advantages of these brands for staircase renovation or construction:
- Design freedom : Adaptable to all shapes, compatible with multiple substrates, complete customisation of colours, textures and effects.
- Resistance and durability : Suitable for high-traffic areas, both indoors and outdoors.
- Renovation without demolition : Can be applied in thin layers on many substrates.
- High-end finish : Refined mineral effect with MORTEX® coating or terrazzo with the BEALSTONE® system.
